Hiding the Dock

If you are like me you had the Windows task bar disappear when you didn’t need it so that you got more screen space. When you need it you put your mouse at the bottom of the screen and it will pop up.

You can do pretty much the same thing on the Mac. Go to the Apple symbol in the Menu Bar and the 5th item down is Dock. The very first command on the sub menu is Turn Hiding On (or Off once it is on). This will make the Dock disappear until you put your mouse at the bottom of the screen.

Note: you can move the Dock to the left or right side of the screen (the command is on that same submenu mentioned above) and then you would move the mouse to the side where the Dock is hidden to bring it out.
