Manipulating windows

Both the MacOS and Windows use graphic symbols or decorations for manipulating windows. They both do pretty much the same things but in different ways. It’s almost like having the steering wheel on the left versus the right.

In the upper right of a Windows window are 3 squares:

Windows window upper right
and in the upper left of a Mac window are 3 circles:
Mac window upper left
And here is a comparison:

Name Description Windows Position Mac Position
Dismiss window kill the window but not the application X on right X on left
Minimize window take window off the screen and put it in the Task Bar (Windows) or Dock (Mac) _ on the left - in the middle
Full Screen Toggle alternate between full screen and partial screen alternates between one box and two overlapping boxes in the middle position + on the right

The Mac window has an additional decoration in the upper right:
Mac window upper right
and it toggles the title bar to include or remove any shortcut icons.
